Trans care is Vital. Donate to MHHA today!

What would you do if your life saving care was hours away, and you had no way to get there? Millions of people in rural America lack access to the life saving resources and care. We at Mosaic push back against the notion that accessible, inclusive care is something that only belongs in urban settings. Since opening in 2016, Mosaic has solidified itself as a hub of whole-person and LGBTQ2IA+ family practice healthcare. We opened in 2016 with only 80 patients, and now we serve nearly 4000. Over 1300 of those are gender diverse people.

The message is clear. Limiting the civil rights of gender diverse people is a legislative goal.

Based on the volume and content of the anti-trans legislation proposed and passed in the US, the message is clear. Nearly half of all proposed anti-trans legislation affects access to healthcare. Mosaic Health and Healing Arts will continue to stand with our gender diverse patients. We understand the importance of protecting access to gender affirming care.

Mosaic provides primary care, including HIV treatment and prevention and gender affirming care. Through this, Mosaic has also recognized the need for LGBTQ2IA+ competency training for medical and mental health providers as well as the organizations through which they provide service.

Growth in our patient panel!
We have grown to nearly 4,000 that come from across the state of Indiana to receive care. Nearly 1,300 of our patients identify with the gender diverse community! In the active bills, 5 directly impact healthcare providers from affirming the sexual identities and orientations of minors, prevent referrals for gender diverse care, and allows for “corrective” surgeries for intersex youth. the active bills, HB1118 prevents healthcare providers from affirming the sexual identities and orientations of minors, prevents referrals for gender diverse care, and allows for “corrective” surgeries for intersex youth.
SB0480 Injunction!
In the case K.C vs. Medical Licensing Board of Indiana, with the ACLU, Mosaic Health and Healing Arts served as a plaintiff with other families to fight the passing of SB0480. The injunction was granted, meaning that we were able to temporarily halt the impact that SB0480 would've had on trans youth in Indiana, allowing us to continue to legally provide gender diverse care.
Expanded care access!
We believe accessible care should be expanded to those in Rural areas, and should not be limited to urban areas. We have trained nearly 50+ mental health and healthcare providers that help expand access to affirming and inclusive healthcare to 6 other states nationwide. Your gifts help us sustain our efforts for training providers across the country.

The research is clear. Access to gender affirming care is vital.

The Center for American Progress (CAP) and National Library of Medicine (NLM) has published articles discussing the research of barriers to access, and the importance of the need. CAP's article also confirms that “Structural, institutional, and individual barriers in access to care, along with a lack of cultural competency from many health care providers, contribute to the large disparities in health between transgender and cisgender populations.” Mosaic Health and Healing Arts dreams of expanding access to physicians who understand these barriers. We envision medical providers who work for local, accessible, inclusive access to healthcare.

Together we can expand the accessibility of essential healthcare for gender diverse and all LGBTQ2IA+-identifying folks as well as those seeking HIV care and prevention through your financial contribution and support of Mosaic.

Your support makes a world of difference, regardless of how much you can do or how much you can give. Thank you for helping us share best practices with our community.
